This program includes information that will help students understand what bloodborne pathogens are and how risks of exposure can be reduced for themselves and others.
Students will learn the types of micro
organisms, pathways of infection, bloodborne
diseases, universal precautions/BSI,
personal protective equipment, exposure
control plan, engineering controls, work
practice controls, housekeeping, regulated
waste, labeling, post-exposure procedures
and record keeping procedures. Participants
receive a course completion card that is
valid for two years, a successful completion
packet, and a course handbook. The employer
will receive all of the required proof of
training documentation to meet OSHA
requirements.
The program assists in satisfying the training requirements of the U.S. Department of Labor, OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard (29 CFR 1910.1030).
