Advanced Life Support (ALS) Interface is a course designed to
assist in the transition of EMT-Basics to function on an
operational level with Advanced Life Support / Paramedic level providers.
Emphasis
will be placed on
- EMT scope of practice (based on
current DOT
regulations),
- basic and advanced airway management devices and
skills,
- identification of basic rhythm disturbances,
- identification and management skills (on a basic level) of
actual and/or impeding cardiac arrest,
- IV techniques and,
- Current
ACS and stroke
management.

Class will include lecture, skill, teaching and
testing stations. |

Course Content: EMT
scope of practice (based on DOT regulations), Theory of advanced airway
management, Identification of basic rhythm disturbances, IV access
theory, Basic introduction to ACLS algorithms, BLS operations on ALS
units, Medical scene operations, Trauma scene operations, Basic driving
skills for ambulance operators.
